Video Editor & Storyteller in the Cut
Editing is where the story truly comes alive—and for me, it’s where rhythm, emotion, and structure are shaped into a cohesive visual experience. I’ve edited a wide range of projects, including music videos, mini documentaries, and short films, always with a sharp eye for pacing, flow, and visual storytelling.
I work primarily in DaVinci Resolve Studio, taking advantage of its powerful integration across the Edit, Fusion, Color, and Fairlight pages. I also use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects for motion graphics and dynamic compositing, and Final Cut Pro when required for collaborative workflows.
My Editing Workflow & Techniques:
• Narrative Structure & Story Flow: Every edit starts with understanding the story’s emotional arc—whether it’s a high-energy music video, a character-driven short film, or a real-world doc. I build scenes with intentional pacing, clean act transitions, and emotional beats that resonate.
• Multicam & Proxy Workflows: I efficiently handle multi-camera edits for live performances and interviews, and use optimized proxy workflows to manage high-resolution RAW footage from 4K to 8K without slowing down the process.
• Creative Cut Techniques:
• J-cuts and L-cuts to keep dialogue flowing naturally.
• Match cuts, motivated cuts, and invisible edits for cinematic transitions.
• Speed ramping, time remapping, and jump cuts to create energy and stylize rhythm.
• Frame holds, montage sequences, and split-screen storytelling for documentaries and creative storytelling.
• Visual Effects & Transitions:
• Custom transitions using camera motion tracking, lens blur wipes, and zoom effects.
• Integration of titles, overlays, and motion graphics using Fusion or After Effects.
• Skilled in masking, rotoscoping, planar tracking, and compositing effects to cleanly blend shots or enhance visual storytelling.
• Sound Design & Audio Mixing:
• Detailed audio editing and mix in Fairlight, including noise reduction, EQ, dialogue cleanup, and layered sound design.
• Incorporating custom sound effects, ambient textures, and rhythm-based cuts that elevate the visuals.
• Technical Polish & Delivery:
• Subframe editing, clip-level animation curves, and precise keyframe work for refined polish.
• Clean organization of timelines, bins, and effects layers to keep projects smooth and scalable.
• Exporting to multiple formats and aspect ratios, with delivery specs tailored to YouTube, Instagram, DCP, or broadcast.
Collaborative & Set-Ready
My editing style is not just technical—it’s collaborative. I maintain clean, professional project structures with labeled tracks, color-coded bins, and versioned timelines so that any DOP, director, or colorist can step in with ease. Whether I’m working on a fast-paced music video or a story-driven mini doc, I make sure every cut reflects the creative vision and is ready for grading, sound mix, and final delivery.
